How it started:

I established Blanket Creek Pottery in 2001 in a garage in the countryside of Kentucky.

I learned the craft during a two-year apprenticeship and eventually started my own business from the ground up, one wheel-thrown pot at a time.
It remained a one-person studio until 2014 when I married my wife, Yael. Since then, we run the business together in total cooperation, expanding the original Blanket Creek brand.

I do most of the production work, including wheel-throwing, glazing and firing; while Yael manages the product and glaze development, photography and website development.
We constantly work to increase our offering, endeavoring to produce new lines of unique glazes and shapes that combine aesthetics with functionality.

Our Pottery:

Each product is handmade from start to finish in our studio, which doubles as a shelter to six cats and two dogs rescued over the years. Each piece is unique, and the slight variations in size and glaze are part of what makes this pottery special. All items are fully functional for daily use and can be offered as a gift for special occasions, such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.

This pottery is food safe and can be used in a dishwasher, oven and microwave.

To find out more about how we make our pottery, please see the How It's Made page.

We invite you to revisit our website as we update our product line regularly.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Thank you for your interest in Blanket Creek Pottery!
